About Us

Red Sugar was established in 1996 and since then takes the lead in supplying of equipment for sugar factories of Russia. Red Sugar meets the needs of sugar factories in new technology, equipment, including design works, erection and start-up, spare and consumable parts, as well as service and maintenance, factory development concepts (including upgrading and increasing of capacity) with the help of key specialists from Western Europe, Ukraine and Russia.

Red Sugar along with BAM (www.bamagro.ru) and Technopack (www.technopack.spb.ru) constitutes a group of companies - “SPB GROUP”.

Head office of Red Sugar is located in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

At our facilities in St.Petersburg we also have assembling lines, centrifugal assembly workshop, washing plant assembly workshop, pulp press assembly workshop, vacuum pans assembly workshop and electrical workshop.

Main representative office of Red Sugar is situated in Voronezh city, where we are the owners of  Bobrovsky sugar plant (with a capacity of 6000 tbd). At present the plant is dismantled by Red Sugar.

Another rep office of Red Sugar is in Moscow city where we have a  research center leaded by former director of GIPROSAKHAR – Mr. Mikhailov and his team.

Also we have branch offices in Kursk city (design group), Elets and Krasnodar city.

Total number of Red Sugar managers  constitutes 124 persons.

Principal activity of Red Sugar is focused on following:

• new technologies and solutions, design of new plants and  process workshop sections, supply of equipment for such projects, mounting and commissioning of said equipment;
• reconstruction of existing plants, increase of productivity and effectiveness  of working equipment
• supply of spare parts and expendable materials

To meet these goals we use capabilities of Russian machine-building plants and foreign producers:

• Applexion (France) – Molasses desugarisation systems and separation processes
• Danisco (Finland) – separation technologies
• "Perry Videx" (USA) - Second Hand equipment;

• "CPM/Europe B.V." (Holland) - pelleting and drying plants;
• "H.Putsch GmbH and Co." (Germany) - all range of equipment for sugar industry;
• "Sakhproject" (Russia) - design of agroindustrial factories (including sugar factories);
• "Giprosakhprom" (Russia) - design of agroindustrial factories (including sugar factories);
• "Skif Control" (Ukraine) - control systems for sugar industry and engineering;
• "TMA" (Ukraine) - manufacturing and erection of process equipment;
• Babbini (Italy)– pulp presses

• former Pacific North West Sugar Co. sugar factory in Moses Lake

In 2004 Red Sugar bought former Pacific North West Sugar Co. sugar factory in Moses Lake, WA, USA. Capacity of the factory was 6000 TPD beet.

Most interesting items of this  factory  are:

• molasses desugarization plant (two lines with a capacity of 51 500 t year of fresh molasses each)pulp drier 150 tpd
• diffuser RT2 (FCB)
• six vacuum pans (Honolulu Iron and Stern Rogers)
• evaporators (Alfa Laval)
• pulp presses MS 64 (Atlas Stord)
• pellet lines (CPM)

         And other.

Expected turnover of Red Sugar for year of 2005 shall be  approximately (due to the fact that financial year in sugar industry ends in January of the year to follow) 32 mln. of Euros.

Prospects for the development

Red Sugar takes part in every project of construction of new sugar plants in Russia as a partner or general contractor, equipment supplier  or consultant. Our clients are attracted by wide experience of Red Sugar in boosting of plant productivity.

In 2006 Red Sugar plans to implement several projects using latest technologies:

• construction of  Molasses Desugarization Plant (moved from Moses Lake, WA,USA) in central Russia. Estimated project cost - 11 mln. Euros;
• Implementation of modern technology of storage of the beets being frozen in Republic of Bashkortostan. Estimated project cost - 3 mln. Euros;
• Supply and construction of defecosaturation (juice purification) station in Rebulic of Tatarstan. Estimated project cost - 2 mln. Euros.

Within recent years Red Sugar has performed full reconstruction of the following sugar plants with doubling of productivity : Nikiforovsky sugar plant (Tambov city), Buinsky sugar plant (Republic of Tatarstan), Kersanovsky sugar plant (Tambov region), Zainsky sugar plant (Republic of Tatarstan), Novopokrovsky sugar plant (Krasnodar city).

In the year of 2006 in accordance with the  demands of the owners of the factories we plan to reconstruct Yelets sugar plant (Lipetsk region), Raevsky sugar plant (Republic of Bashkortostan) and Nurlatsky sugar plant (Republic of Tatarstan).
